I really like this jam.
And I really love the video.
It's so uplifting and powerful, I almost hate to give it a dark twist, but that's what we do here and it isn't my fault that the amazingly talented Sara Bareilles wrote this line, now is it?
We cannot be held responsible for this snippet of darkness that was injected into the song.
All I know is that when I hear it, I think of ghosts and our never-ending battle with all that we cannot see or fathom. And I think about the evil that lurks in darkened corners. And I wonder if we can win the fight? Sometimes the shadow wins.
Steampunk is one of my favorite styles and when I saw this video, I knew I immediately had to share it with all of you.
Look how freaking cool this place looks!
There are so many amazing and imaginative outfits (my fave is at the 3:00 minute marker).
Which ones do you like?
Have you been here?
Are they still going on?
Should we go?
I heard this blast-from-the-past the other day and found myself analyzing these great lines from the jam...
I can feel the devil walking next to me
and I can feel an angel sliding up to me
I guess it's up to you which one you decide to listen to most.
Creepsters?
Do you follow the angels?
Or do you favor the company of the devil?
This video is killer and I wanted to share it with all of you.
It's a touch wicked and a touch evil and a whole lot of goth. Plus,it's nice to have Avril back on the airwaves.
Side Note ~ I want every one of her wardrobe changes. (Did you see that red dress?!)
Check it out, Creepsters.

UPDATE: July was a very busy month for me as far as writing and reading and working on new projects. I have a few books I am mulling over, trying to decide which one is worthy of our book club pick for August. I'll use this weekend to hash it out and narrow down the wicked possibilities.
Keep close to the blog as I post my pick and video for the Night Lights Book Club sometime next week.
And thank you for being here, Creepsters.
Thanks for being part of the darkness.
