Bless my Soul

I watched the light from a distance.

I longed for it;

Wished for it to fill me with its warmth.

I tried to dream myself out of this darkness;

Struggled with the shadows and longed for sleep.

But only the nightmares remained

Only the evil came 

And with it walked the creature who 

vowed to collect what was due.
