The Pachyderm

Nightmare #27:
He clutched the metal clasp that hung at his neck.  At first glance, we thought it was a necklace.  On second look, this fastening was part of his person.  With a thumb and index finger, he forced it and with a jerk, began to unzip his skin - as if removing a jacket.  The ripping sound of each notch, as he pulled its closure over his chest and down to his stomach, echoed in the dark room like nails down a chalk board.
Blood and organs oozed from the opening.
The newly emerging creature chuckled.
We screamed.
And screamed.
And stood frozen in place.
The creature spoke only once before beginning its feast, “And here I thought the circus was just winding down.”
